报告题目: Physical environment of accreting neutron star in low-mass X-ray binaries

报告摘要:

In neutron star (NS) low-mass X-ray binary systems, accreting material will lead to significant evolution of NS and fruitful X-ray variability, due to a compact and viscous accretion disk. I this talk, I will discuss the physical environment in the vicinity of NSs. Firstly, I will talk about accretion-induced magnetic-field decay and spin-up of NSs, which is ascribed to primary mechanism for the formation of millisecond pulsars, and the influence factors for the minimum period and magnetic field of the formed objects. In the second part, I will give an introduction to the fastest X-ray variability in X-ray binaries — kilohertz quasi-periodic oscillations and discuss some properties of these signals, as well as the formation mechanism. According to these phenomenna, I take the rotation effects of NS into account and present our quasi-quantized model of disk structure. Finaly, I would like to talk about my current and future work, i.e. applying the accretion of compact object to investigation for the nature of dark energy, candidate of dark matter, and mass generation of graviton.
